Curbside Recycling
Recycling Mandate By The State
On June 8, 2010, Governor Markell signed Senate Bill #234 into law. This bill requires all trash haulers to provide curbside collection to their customers by September 15, 2011. Each hauler must provide their customers with a container.
Acceptable Recycling Materials
- Newspapers/ Brown Paper Bags
- Magazines/Catalogs
- Telephone/Soft Cover Books
- Junk Mail/Envelopes (all types)
- Paper
- Paperboard (cereal/tissue boxes)
- Cardboard
- Narrow-Neck Plastic Bottles (examples: Milk Jugs, Bleach/Detergent, Shampoo Bottles)
- Glass Bottles/Jars (any color) - please rinse out food
- Metal Cans (tin/steel/aluminum) - please rinse out food
